hoytman62
Why does a deer when you shoot one will go out into a pond or creek or stream and die?
wtnhunt
Never had any luck looking for deer around water here. Of course our property is along a river bottom. They say a deer hit not so great(gutshot) will go to water, thirsty due to dehydration.
RangerClay
William hit it. With severe blood loss comes dehydration.
Zizzer59
Ditto. All wounded animals seek out water.
Ravin R10 man
I found a buck my brother shot, we had tracked it until we lost blood, then the next a.m. I was in my stand and heard ravens west of me toward the beaver pond. It had blown out, but the hole the beaver dug was deep enough for the buck to lie down in and expire..only his head and part of his neck was visable...this was about 250 yards from our last sign of blood and the direction he was heading...
