Ravin R10 man
Nothing found as of today, thinking if they turned, that plane could be anywhere,...may be a long time before they find it.... I thought all plans were on radar at all times?? Unless they flew low enough to o undetected(air force etc> Edited March 11, 2014 by Mathews XT Man
Jeramie
Yep... sad news and true. There are have been many plane wrecks that were missing for many years, only to be found by someone while hiking, diving, etc.
535hunter
A true tragedy. Unfortunately we will never know the truth about the events. Maybe the box will reveal what happened if they are able to locate it. With all the technology in the world I figured that planes would be on some sort of GPS tracker during the entire flight path to help at least locate the plane in cases such as this. wtnhunt
Mising Airliner Would also think with technology they should be able to find it within a reasonably short time. With whatever the cause, sad news.

stevebeilgard
it's truly quite a mystery. i am (was) a commercial pilot in the day. everything is not electrical. there is always a dual system with a mechanical backup. airspeed indicator, horizon, pitch/yaw indicator, etc. with a quick fire, the plane is flyable unless you are dead. then, we have the terrorist thing. maybe hi jacked? maybe that's why the transponders were turned off. with electrical failure, the transponders have backup power totally unrelated. why are cell phones of people on board still working? if the plane hit water, there would be floating debris. if it hit ground, why are the black boxes not working. if it were terrorism, why is no one claimbing it. if it were a hi jacking why is there no ransom demands. this one is a very strange one. maybe, while looking, we'll find amelia earhardt. lol

stevebeilgard
not a trajedy just yet. there may be a hanger somewhere in muslim land, holding live passengers and an intact plane. don't give up hope, albeit slim.

wtnhunt
Mising Airliner Seems to still be a lot of confusion around this story. Heard last week that cell phone pings were picked up after the plane went "missing". Latest reports are that the flight computer was deliberately changed to alter the flight path. Transponders turned off and last seen by satellite some 6 hours after last communication. Seems they could connect the dots from satellite and other data and at least rule in and out most likely area. Odd no debris was found in the water if it was water crash or landing. Ravin R10 man
I doubt what they see in water is from jet..most likely trash from a tsunami in Indonesia My bet is it landed somewhere, most likely Pakistan Edited March 24, 2014 by Mathews XT Man
Ravin R10 man
Guess I was wrong, thought Thomas McInerney knew what he was talking about... Hold The Press.... Malysia says plane is down, but we have nothing to verify it?? OK so McInerney may be right then at this point.
