stone_nix
I have access to free rice all year round, and i use it for my deer. I wanted to know if there is anything wrong with year round baiting. I am trying to have a sure area to hunt. At the time i have 4 bucks and two does coming to my stand with only a trophy rock. Rhino
That depends on the laws in the state where you're baiting/feeding deer. Laws are different from state to state when it comes to baiting and/or feeding deer. Never knew anyone that used rice. Heard of feeding them protein, corn, apples, sweet potatoes, and a few other things but never knew anyone feeding rice to deer. If it's legal in your state I don't see a problem with it anymore than someone feeding them year round with protein or by planting a food plot. wtnhunt
Heard of rice bran but never rice. Agree with Al, check your regs.
dbHunterNY
if it's legal where you are and they take to it, then just make sure you feed it year round or introduce it slowly during the winter. during the winter their digestion changes to winter woody browse. unless they've been eating that already they won't be able to digest it well.
