texastrophies
The Colorado application deadline is approaching. April 01, 2014 is the application deadline with results posted by May 30, 2014. This year Colorado went to charging NR's a $40 fee for a PP if you did not have a qualifying license last year. If you are applying for more than 1 tag, (elk & deer) you can save a little money by buying a 2013 fishing license at a cost of $56. That will save you $24 if you are just applying for 2 or even more if you apply for more critters.
colorado bob
I sent my in as soon as I got the proclamation----I use the US Mail & paper applications. I hunt the same areas year after year, so it's a no brainer where I apply.
texastrophies
Since it looks like I struck out for AZ elk, I was planning on doing a double elk & deer in AZ, I am thinking strongly about Co. deer. I think I have narrowed it down to 53 or 54 third season or 66 or 67 second season. I have 8 points and should be able to draw one of those, just got to decide which one. Already did the points for elk for me & both deer & elk for Jake. Just got to make the decision and pull the trigger on deer. It's kind of funny to think all of my western state hunting started with the 2006 Realtree elk hunt in 55. I actually put in for a deer tag for that hunt too, thinking I had a chance to draw it not knowing how the draw worked. Oh well, hopefully it will pay off for me finally. colorado bob
Jeff---that's like my WY moose, I was applying for WY antelope & saw that I could buy a point for $10. So I paid the $10 for the preference point & kept it up for 7 or 8 years & then drew the tag. I never did draw the antelope---stopped after a year. My NM oryx, I was on a forum & someone post that oryx applications were due in a couple of days. I was in Farmington, NM the next day & picked up an application & mailed in the last day. I drew that tag on my 3rd choice----just a wimp, a shot in dark. Funny how things workout. Just like the RT turkey hunt in a couple weeks, I said what the heck, let's go.
