hoytshooter09
Im gonna be buying some new hunting boots this year my insulated ones are to heavy and to hot for turkey and early bow season. My main concern is they are waterproof and tall. What do you guys wear or suggest?
wtnhunt
Cabelas boots! Best boots for the money imo. Have zipper up pinnacle snake boots i use for turkey season and the early seasons here. Irish setter out danner would be my next choice. Muck are good boots too. I would not suggest Rocky, never could get their customer support to answer me when my snake boots started leaking. They leaked walking through fields after about a year of limited use. Was disappointed in the quality and disgusted with their lack of customer support. maytom
Lacrosse boot fan. I like the fact that their boots are 17" tall compared to some other brands. I love their Burly's best with the air bob soles. They come with just the foam insulation, and are perfect for spring turkey and early bow seasons. I have their Grange model as well, but hardly wear them over the Burly's!!!! Nothing worse that getting wet feet, love those 17" tall rubber boots!!! Now if you live in snake country, another style of boot may be more to your liking., or wear a pair of snake chaps?
archerjg
I wear either Muck Boots or I wear the Irish Setter Rutmaster and both are excellent knee boots. I wear them year around for chores and hunting. Archerjg
dbHunterNY
I've got leather upper boots and two pair of Muck boots. I only wear the Mucks; hoser for cool weather and arctic sport for cold weather.
WHISKEYSWAMP
I use cabelas 2k gram for cold season and muck muckmasters for early. Both have been good boots.

woolybear
I'm a little late on this one, but I'll give an opinion anyhow. Over the past 20yrs, I've had no luck whatsoever with ANY boot surviving a winter of hiking for antlers.... zip, zero, zilch! A good year, I'll go through two pairs.., and a bad year, three or sometimes more. I've never found one I would buy again after 3-4 months of wear. Last fall (September) I picked up a pair of Lacrosse Aeroheads, and they have been a dream come true! No cracking, no leaking, and no "old boot" appearance after hiking in them through the toughest winter I can remember on record! I've tried other Lacrosse models in the past that never held up past the first two months, but these babies are still going strong now 7 months later, with daily use under some extreme conditions. If they sprung a leak today, I'd run right out and get another pair tomorrow without hesitation. These things have already got more mileage on them in a short time than some guys will put on a pair of boots throughout their entire hunting careers. I did have to add some gel-insoles as they are a little too flat footed and uncomfortable for extended hikes right out of the box, and I wish the tread design was a bit more aggressive. I'm not sure if they may only comes in one option there, but I can deal with that. Besides that, NO complaints in the durability department... NONE!
