Twice I've seen him now

Hunted in the morning and did not see anything.

Decided that the afternoon would be a great time to hang one of my new lock-on stands that I just got and I knew the place. ADKhunter and I had scouted out a couple spots when he was over here earlier in the season. I go back to the house and get the gear and stand and head back out. Park the truck and gather all the stuff for hanging the stand into a backpack and grab the stand. The reason I'm doing this and not hunting is because of the weather....very windy(great noise cover), it is raining on and off, and I have had zero luck in a stand site that I thought would have produced a deer by now.

So I fire up the GPS to take me to one of the spots I had already visited and decided to hang the stand in an area where last year during rifle season I had jumped up the "Big Boy" of the property....

All was going well and I'm getting close to the spot, the GPS says it only 567 ft away..............

and SNORT...............

HE's outta here with tail high and white blush.gifcrazy.gif

Would have been nice if I had my Bow with me....25 yds broadside.

He never stopped for a shot though even if I had brought the bow with me....thats what I'm telling myself to keep my head from just exploding.

As he walked away fast I lifted my empty-bowless-left hand up and waved goodbye...then I hung the stand...492 ft away from where he was bedded.

I believe I have found where he likes to bed down during the mid-day hours....I'll be finding out if he returns there tommorrow(I'll be there all day long).

I do believe I'm getting closer and he is better than last year.....I have his rack(left side) that I found while scouting the area with ADKhunter....the boys at the NYRoundup saw it......he he he he is better this year..mumblemumblemumble(bangs head on computer desk repetitively) crazy.gif

Always take your Bow

Do as I say......

not as I DID today

That sucks.. smirk.gif

I had a similar instance, that happened about this time last year. I was getting down from hunting one morning after sitting for a few hours and happen to walk over closer to the edge of the woods when all the sudden I jump this buck up. He hauled out of there and there wasn't even a chance to get a shot at him as he didnt stop. I figured I could hang up in the area he came into to bed. This all happened within 50yds of where I previously was. Well I got there the next morning and did not find him coming back in to bed... frown.gif

Usually when you push em once they will more then likely come back, twice and you might as well forget em grin.gif
