texastrophies
I got the opportunity this past weekend to take a Scimitar-Horned Oryx. I am not going to say it was a tough hunt, but it was a good weekend. Got to spend some time with friends, good eats, pull a trigger, meat for the freezer and a mount for the wall. Also got to see a few critters I don't normally get to see. Here are a few pictures.
wtnhunt
Congratulations Jeff. Looks it picked a good spot to expire where you were out of the cactus. Looks like a haven for rattlesnakes.
texastrophies
Thanks. I agree on the cactus, very tough animal. I hit it with my .300 RUM at about 100 yards, and he ran between 2 - 300 yards before giving up. Even though my shot looks good, it turned out being to high. Their vitals are very low and forward. I agree about the snakes, but we didn't see a single one, even though we did do quite a bit of hiking around.

colorado bob
That's a good one. I've always wanted to combine an exotic hunt with spring Rio's in Texas. Sounds like a good trip to get out of the snow country. Let;s hope you get drawn for oryx on the White Sands-----then you'll have a set of bookends for you man cave. redkneck
Nice trophy Jeff! High shot or not that's a long run for an animal hit with that cannon! Must be a tuff critter!
