hoytman62
Does it really matter if you get a Green, Red or Camo UTV for hunting? I thought deer were color blind?
wtnhunt
UTV Color Guess that would depend on whether you are parking it where it will be seen. If that were the case a camo'd ride would be best. Just driving don't honestly think it matters. My tractors are kubota orange, many times have had deer watch me on the tractor and usually so long as it is moving they do not get too alarmed. Last year while dragging a disc actually had a doe come to me and get within probably 30 yards before turning and walking away.
Ravin R10 man
Why would you not want a RT camo?....lol
Turkeygirl
My JD Gator I got in olive green....little more $ then the traditional John Deere color, less $ than camo...I didn't want to stand out too much.
Rhino
That's old school thought. Actually deer can see some colors...not like we do though and they don't see the longer wave length colors. Google of the latest research on it & see for yourself. If my UTV is backed into brush where I can glass a field scouting, some camo on the front lets it blend in better than solid red would. Same goes for your camo clothing when you're hunting in a treestand. The main thing though...when the time comes, resale is lot easier for a camo UTV than another color and you can get more $ selling a used camo UTV. Why? Not too many hunters want red, blue, or another color on a used UTV. They want camo. If it's not camo & they are still interested they use that as a bargaining chip to cut your asking price further. About the only exception to camo that's generally acceptable to the vast majority of hunters is green. BTW...a friend of mine got about an additional $1,500 off a new Polaris EV because it was blue. The dealer had it for a while because nobody wanted a blue one & the next year's models were about to come out so he was anxious to get rid of it. wtnhunt
UTV Color Yep Al is right, deer see colors but see them a little differently than we do. Also very good advice about resale. Most lots have solid off colors blue, yellow, red, etc that they will have last model years they have to cut the price just to even sell.
