WStreblo
I am looking for the best of both worlds in an arrow. I cant shoot anything other than Easton arrows, but I shoot the Full Metal Jackets for down range stability and retained kinetic energy but also shoot the Hexx arrows for flat out speed. Looking for an arrow in the middle of that spectrum. I am looking at the Easton A/C/C Pro line....any suggestions?
hoosierhunter
I shoot easton axis now. Previously was FMJs. If your shooting 70lbs around 280 fps with FMJs currently your arrow energy with a fixed blade is enough to penetrate a shoulder even with the light arrows. Your KE isn't going to be much different between your two current arrows. Momentum is where you will see the difference. The lighter arrow will lose more after initial impact than the FMJ. For example only a spine shot buck stopped my FMJs and two were shoulder shots with Muzzys and still passed through. With axis I shot rages and they still passed through but not with the authority of the muzzy and I didn't hit any shoulders. The only real affect the FMJ has is slower arrow speed which doesn't matter inside 30 yards for the most part. It's the long shots where the deer has time to react. dbHunterNY
well yea there's a bunch. Easton makes a lot of good arrows. you could use the stiffest spine Hexx but then use a brass insert that will give you more weight and a little more FOC for longer down range accuracy. Bowfire, Axis, Injections (if you want to get deep six stuff), or Bloodlines.
dbHunterNY
I'm still shooting lightspeed 340 shafts that i have left over for my hunting setup. they shoot well but as durable as your heavier shafts. finished weight with 100gr heads and blazers is 402 grains.
