Smoker question

Used a cheap brinkman "smoke n grill" charcoal cooker for years here. Imho it gave better flavor than what my electric masterbuilt does, but was a bit of a pain to keep a constant temp up with. Dunno about yours Martin but possible your element may not be good. I think those brinkman electrics do not have adjustable thermostats either.

I like the electric convenience and it does give good results. Only issue i have had has been with the wires going into the element, had to take it apart and fix it.

Smoker question

May want to check with the manufacturer Martin.

I know the brinkman electric my parents had did not have any adjustable thermostat or way to control the temp, just plugged it in and added wood chips. It had a thermometer in the lid just like the one i had.

One thing on the masterbuilt, wish they had the bigger models with the see through windows when i bought mine. These new ones are pretty nice.
