Trevor
I finally joined our local archery club this week. I haven't ever shoot 3d before but I always wanted to try it so it just joined this past week. I went to the club yesterday and meet a lot of the members and shot one round of 30 targets with three other members. We didn't keep score just had a fun shoot. I missed one bear target on a 35 yard steep down hill shot just few inches high over the back. I just have to get better at judging distance. Had a lot of fun and seems like a lot of great members in the club.
dbHunterNY
aside from shooting at squirrels from your stand, it's probably the best practice you can get. judging yardage is a really big part of it that most don't practice enough. i can tell you a dozen things that will just plain make it difficult to judge distance. dips in the landscape and things like logs between you and the target are just a couple.
