Turkeygirl
Got a few more days left but never really got out this year. Working 3p-11p puts a damper on roosting turkeys and makes it hard to get up early:yawn: Also my BSN courses took precedent. Then the land I always get permission to hunt, some guys really hunted it this year, had a cam pic of one of them with a turkey...probably 6-7 different guys I had on trail cam.... Might get out one or two times more, not sure where but few years back went out on the last day and found a hot bird so there is always hope. Strut10
Hope you can get on a hot bird. If it's been anything up here like it's been here................. you ain't missed much. This has been the strangest year in my memory for lack of gobbling birds.
Rhino
Hope you can manage to make a hunt when the birds are vocal Ruth. If it's been anything up here like it's been here................. you ain't missed much. This has been the strangest year in my memory for lack of gobbling birds. From what little time I spent in the woods down here, it was that way in MS and AL too Don. I didn't hunt too much down here but I kept hearing the same reports from friends of mine about the birds not gobbling much to speak of. Thank goodness the birds were vocal in KS and MO. colorado bob
They were gobbling good during the RT turkey hunt in KS. The merriams in Colorado very vocal as usual. I love that gobble. CB
RTF
Last day Ruth so get up and get out in the woods kid. I have only been out a few times too this season. No fault of my own. From what I'm seeing and hearing it was a pretty good year for turkeys in NY.
Ravin R10 man
We lost a lot over the winter, have heard some gobble in the a.m., not seeing many at all, got a few hens nesting here. Hope they are high and dry, we got up to 4 inches of rain forecast.
