wtnhunt
Anyone used these. Looks great in the store, makes the old wood look like composite decking, but reviews don't look so great, and many of those went to great lengths with their prep. The limited good reviews suggest prep is key. Considered the stuff on the old pool deck to try, but hate to waste time and money on something that is gonna peel inside 2 years. As much as i would like to, replacing all the old wood with the real composite stuff isn't really an option right now.
Maine Hntr
Behr or Olympic deck paints? I used behr premium a few years ago and it peeled pretty quickly, granted during the process I got hit with a thunderstorm when the product wasn't fully cured but I've seen similar results on my parents deck and they didn't get hit with rain. I used the behr cleaning product sprayed it on and brushed it to clean the surface prior to finishing and it obviously didn't work. I work in the architectural woodwork field and the products should last longer than that but unfortunately the best products on the market will fail to Mother Nature, the uv rays are killer to any product but the darker the stain color the more uv protection! Good luck! PS - composites have some downfalls too, they can be extremely hot on bare feet!
Maine Hntr
Just realized you were referring to the paints, I can't say I have experience with the paint, only deck stain
