wtnhunt
Past 2 weeks been kinda rough around here. Don't know where our youngest daughter(8 years old) picked this virus up but it lasted 6 days for her with very high fevers. Couple times going over 104. First few days seem to produce vomiting making it difficult to keep medicine down. Unfortunately our isolation efforts failed last Friday when she was running low grade fever and our 3 year old son got it, and our two older daughters also now have it. Was rough keeping his fever down even with Motrin and Tylenol. Finally seemed to be better yesterday. Doctor seemed stumped, said not seeing any bugs with flu type symptoms, had to be viral. Kids are out of school, no clue where she picked this up.

redkneck
That's too bad William. I remember the girls having similar viral infections when they were young. Sometimes very high fever like that with absolutely no other symptoms. All you could do was alternate tylenol, advil as they could take it. MUDRUNNER
Man, I know that feeling. Sicknesses get passed around our house like that too, no matter what kind of effort we put into keeping it from spreading. Hope everyone is feeling better. wtnhunt
We at first wondered about possible bug bites, Dr went through some checks and ruled that out. This seems like the flu, achiness, tired, high fever, vomiting, and nausea. Hearing the past few days now about some other people around getting similar "viral" symptoms. A grandchild of one of our church members has been hospitalized, evidently having high fevers and some pretty serious kidney issues.

wtnhunt
Thanks for the well wishes, our youngest two are for the most part better. Seeing some respiratory issues with this too Ruth. Seems day 5 to 6 allergy like symptoms are coming on. Stuffy nose, sore throat, and cough. Probably drainage. Our oldest never had much of a fever but has been pretty miserable.
Turkeygirl
The commissioner in NY just declared last week that influenza season was over and healthcare workers who didn't get the flu shot no longer had to wear masks. There's just so many strains of viral illness and even one of the influenza strains is one that tends to adapt/evolve. Here's too hoping next year is better! Hope everyone perks up soon in your family.
