Ravin R10 man
cutting a dairy farmers 35 acre field this morning with discbine..two rounds in I had to carry out a set of twins, mamma watched me get them across a dirt road into a field that wont get cut right away. mamma came and found them after.. Then next round, a ground up one laying in the windrow..., that one didn't stand a chance, never saw it. That mamma stayed busy chasing the hawks off, never seen anything like that before. Later on other side of field,, 4rth one got up and ran off.
wtnhunt
Too bad about hitting the one Martin. Seen some pretty crazy stuff with momma animals. Plenty of times watched the cows chase birds in the pastures. Seen a doe with a yote in the field that seemed to be trying to lure the yote away, guessing she had a fawn nearby. dogdoc
I'm always afraid my dad is going to run over one when cutting hay at my place but unfortunately he never has. But 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Part of farming though. todd

I hope you meant fortunately there Todd. lol. I hit one once raking hay. Front tire barely hit the poor little thing at the end of a row as I was turning. Our warden came and picked it up, it was still very alive but could not stand up.

wtnhunt
Seems to be somewhat of a drawn out drop this year so far here. Been getting does around the cams that have definitely already had their fawns and some that look ready to pop anytime. No little ones around the cams yet, but did get a doe midday(2:09 pm) last week that had milk and was pretty thin, sure she had a fawn somewhere nearby. Had a yote at the cam less than 15 minutes before she was there. Also noticing a few does that look pretty thin that did not appear to have had a fawn this year.
