WNY_Whitetailer
No little wimpy 5.56 in this Field & Stream article... http://www.fieldandstream.com/articles/hunting/2014/07/finally-4-ar-style-rifles-chambered-for-big-game-hunting?cmpid=enews071614b&spPodID=020&spMailingID=6767597&spUserID=MTY3NjkwOTIyMjkS1&spJobID=481778498&spReportId=NDgxNzc4NDk4S0 I've got a 6.8 SPC for whitetail here in NY. It's a great compromise between 5.56 and .308. Recoil is light and follow up shots quick and easy. wtnhunt
Yeah they missed a few. lol. Remington introduced their "modular sporting" rifles in hunting calibers close to 10 years ago. Since my oldest daughter takes my .270 during our gun seasons, i have toted my lr 308 to the stand a few times but only had dinks come along so yet to take a deer with it. Bit heavy to drag around and with the long barrel probably would be a better option for a blind or covered stand. Want to see my hand loaded 308 rounds used on a deer. Too bad dpms dc'd the 300 saum. An upper in that chambering looked interesting.
