Ravin R10 man
Man I have not seen a year like this since I was kid! Ground is BLUE! Found a patch in a two year old control burn, I've picked 10 gallon this past week on three trips. Yesterday I picked 4 gallon in three hours! Think they hit peak, as am seeing more darks than blues now. Farmer friend I help out, even taught me how to make cream cheese filled pie crust, from scratch!..lol Did my first one last eve. will post pics soon. wtnhunt
No blue berries here but black berries were pretty heavy and ripe a couple weeks ago.
dbHunterNY
make blue berry cream pie here and there. works using any kind of berries actually. RangerClay (Joe) has tried it. can of sweetened condensed milk 1/2 cup heavy cream 1/2 cup lemon juice ...mix well in a large bowl. then fold in... 2 cups of Cool Whip 2 cups of berries ...chill in fridge. it'll make enough to fill two no bake gram cracker or short bread pie crusts. Yep the Blue Berries have done well here also, I will have to take the new hand gun for a nature stroll and check on the Black berries, it should be close to that time. NS whitetail
Blueberries here are very shy this summer. Some folks blame it on Hurricane Arthur that ripped through here back in july, it was lots of wind that knocked down lots of trees and they say that it destroyed the blueberry crops. I would say so too.
