hoytman62
Can you shorten the tether safely on your safety harness other than raising the anchor point on the tree?
Ravin R10 man
You may be able to tie a knot above or below the sewed seams, don't think I'd mess with it. I would rather set my anchor point a little high. We have went to lifelines on all stands this year, so when we get in your stand,, you shove your pruissit knot up as high as you can reach and you are ready to go. I would advise not fooling with a tether, you could be compromising your safety depending on what you do. wtnhunt
Most tethers i have seen are intended for those sewn seems to break away with a fall to slow you before catching you so it is not so abrupt a stop. I would just tie off a little higher.
fly
Not sure about this system but when rock climbing research shows that knots weaken the system and become the breaking point.
hoosierhunter
I'm curious which harness you want to shorten. I have HSS and tree spider and mine are way to short.
Rhino
I'm curious which harness you want to shorten. I have HSS and tree spider and mine are way to short. Same here...mainly for bowhunting. I've extended my HSS hookups a bit for that reason for bowhunting. Short extensions are available for making them a bit longer but I'm not aware of anyway to shorten them.
