Spent some time Sunday and yesterday going through & editing trail cam cards pulled during our last hunt.

Put together these 4 pics of the buck my buddy missed the 1st afternoon. Not sure how many points he has over 1" but he is a main frame 11 point. I know from velvet pics he has split brow tines on both sides, 2 kickers off his left G2 (one short) and a kicker off his right G2. Could have 15 points over 1". Hope we get a chance to tell. Although the buck he killed took the edge off his miss, he's still sick about it. That's the bad part about trail cams.

Also had this new buck show up too. He has split G2's on both sides, kickers off both G2's and a kicker off his left G3. Hope he's around when I'm legal to fill my next buck tag on 11/15.

I have 1 hard horn pic of a main frame 11 point with 1 NT point. I previously posted velvet pics of him in the photo & video forum but he just a little too far to see him clearly in the new pic. No doubt it's him though.

Although I would have to be REAL LUCKY to be able to upgrade my 10 point for the contest, it's nice knowing the possibilities are out there.

Hope y'all have the kind of luck I've already had when you hit the woods soon. Shoot straight!

Congrats on a great buck! I had a shot at a nice doe up in Wisconsin this weekend but decided to hold off due to timing.I also heard a couple bucks fighting or sparing pretty heavy in the thicket with grunting and breaking branches right after that doe came out and had one run out, didn't have a shot but he was a small 4 point . I have it on film so I will see if I can post it, I'll be back up there in 2 weeks but I will be out here in IL til then. Good luck everyone.

I spent Saturday afternoon & Sunday till early afternoon learning more about the new place I have here in MS. Had 1 trail cam out & got a couple of nice MS bucks on it. Put out 3 more trail cams while scouting. May go hunt it a few days toward the end of this week. Bucks starting to crank up scraping down here.

Well sunday I seen a small basket rack 8 in the morning, and this morning I had 2 fat doe's and a fawn come within range but a large branch that I didn't want to cut down was in the way, next week I will be bringing my saw with me. I will also be setting out some trail cams , since I haven't done it in a couple years. I just hate seeing those giants walking by my stand when I'm not there.

Bummer about the limb RackBlaster...you'll get it done. Doesn't bother me having nice bucks walk by my stand. Knowing they did or just knowing they're in the area helps me stay in my stand longer and gets me fired up to be there. As the old saying goes...it can happen at any time!

Checked the only cam I had running in MS this past weekend and got these pics of 2 nice bucks in front of one of my stands. Seems here in MS they know when to go nocturnal though.

The buck in the background in the 2nd pic is this one.

Hunted a couple days early last week. Saw a few does and couple small bucks. Did have a nice 8 point feed around and bed down about 80yds in front of me one afternoon. Pulled our trail cam cards and got a pic of a giant that I hope shows up in the coming month. Good luck everyone and congrats on the great buck Rhino!!

Nice buck ilhnter...Hope you get a a crack at him.

So have we decided on a name yet? Or have we decided to be undecided? Haha.

I believe Joe said he was going to let John know we were going with "Band of Booners". I know John has had some issues with the new forum like the rest of us.

Yup! The new system won't even let me send Redneck a pm. I left one of those profile messages. I'm sure he got it but I too saw Rednecks thread about him having issues with the new forum.

Doesn't surprise me the PM isn't working right. Heck I have trouble trying to add anything within the text I've already typed. Kicks me to the end of where I was typing.

BTW...spent this past Thursday afternoon through Saturday afternoon scouting and learning more about the new club I'm in in MS. Founding some real good looking spots and have all 4 of my 5 trail cams checking out new spots. One is keeping tabs on the deer on the spot where I posted the pics of the 2 bucks on 10/7 here. Took a friend of mine & he bowhunted. He missed a doe the 1st afternoon and killed a doe Saturday morning. In a shallow bottom below a spot where I found deer were feeding on acorns, I found a tree rubbed the size of my calf. About 50 yards from it was a huge tree at least twice that size rubbed. Set one cam where they're feeding on acorns & hope to catch the buck rubbing those trees. Should check the cam this weekend and have a few more stands to set...one there.

Remember you saying you shot one Joe...congrats. Looks like she was trying to mow down your green patch.

I've got to smack several of those this year too for management purposes. My buddy Skip (who shot the doe at my new club Saturday morning) is the kind of guy who will only kill a buck if it comes out 1st. A doe arriving 1st that comes into range doesn't stand a chance unless he misses.

Spent most of this past weekend continuing to scout the new turf here in MS. I have ~5 places figured out now to set stands for the coming gun season. The more I learn about this place, the more I realize I need to learn more. Hope to set at least some of those 5 stands this coming weekend so they'll be ready to go when the gun season opens on 11/22.

Heading back to Missouri on 10/31 for about a week. I can't fill my next buck tag till the MO gun season opens on 11/15 but my buddy and I will play guide for 2 friends of ours and we'll try to get a few more does out of the heard. After this coming weekend, most of my hunting time will be spent in MO until around Thanksgiving.

Hope y'all are enjoying the time you've spent in your neck of the woods.

Rattlesnakes will shake you up. I did happen to run into one this past Saturday in MS. One more we don't have to worry about anymore. It was a mature one like the one you killed but only had 5 rattles & a button. BTW...it's a good idea to cut off the head after you kill them. They have an instinctive strike and can still hurt you if they are still moving after you've killed them.
