Brakes keep locking up

Recommended Posts

I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 4x4 with the 6.0. I can be driving down the road and my brakes will start locking up on the front but it does not do this all the time also when it does start to seize just park it for 15-25 min it comes out of it I have also been driving it and it starts to seize up but then comes right out of it while driving. I have replaced both front calipers and brake hoses along with new rotors and pads but still having issues.

I don't see it being the Master Cylinder but I could be wrong im leaning more towards the Power Brake Booster.

This truck does not have the brake proportional valve.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Ok here's what you do, this might work it may not. but when it locks up, loosen off the master cylinder bolts listen for a hiss and wet inside the booster, if it a booster the hydroboost system could have a bad seal, how's your power steering level? This will this may be caused by a pressure on the plunger of the master. This should diagnose whether it is the master or the booster, but from what you said i'm kinda thinking Shaun is on the right track with the master. I hope this gives you some insight on this matter, Oh by the way I am a tech, but the union pays more so that's where i'm working. This is just some things to save you some greenbacks.
