jfrawley
I just moved to Searcy, AR so I plan to do a lot of duck hunting this winter. I wanted to buy a Pattern Master choke but I can't justify spending that kind of money unless I am able to use it for turkeys. Do y'all know if there is a choke that can shoot ducks in the timber and reach out and kill a turkey at 50-60yd?
hoosierhunter
Unfortunately you are targeting two different species and its best to use two different chokes. I'm guessing flooded timber and close range shooting is the choice in AR. That's the opposite of your turkey full choke. You would be cutting ducks in half with a full choke at close range. They also make plenty of other chokes outside pattern master which allows you to buy multiple for the same price.
Jeramie
Yep, if it were me I would go with a standard Modified for timber hunting with a #2 steel shot. I do that for our ponds. Most shots are easily within 40 yards and it is a deadly combo. For turkey you can pick up a cheap Truglo turkey choke in full or extra full. They are in the $25 range and work fine. Ravin R10 man
Don't think one choke is going to work for those two options, you need a mod for the ducks and a turkey choke .The ammo will be different for both also, another reason for two chokes...just my opinion
dogdoc
Most extra full turkey chokes aren't approved for steel shot anyway. Get two different chokes.

mallardmadness
Used the ER choke in South Dakota and was thoroughly impressed with the extended range it offered....
the_alpha_dog58
I've used both the Hevi Shot and the Patternmaster and surprisingly the ER worked really well on my Beretta! If you're looking for more specific chokes for goose hunting, this is a great article on chokes to help decide what is the best to use.
