Tominator
Looks like I'll be giving up a Saturday during the rut to go watch my daughter row for The Ohio State University. Katie's been working pretty hard balancing school, job and varsity athletics as a freshman. Pretty proud of her. I'll post some pictures of Saturday's scrimmage if I can.
RangerClay
I would do the same without thinking twice. The time granted us to spend time with our children is so short. The deer will still be there when you get back. God will set one aside for you.
wtnhunt
Best of luck to Katie, hope she can keep her priorities in check with so much on her plate. Been there with giving up prime hunting time for school functions Chris. Band competitions are not at the best times, but wouldn't change it. State band competition seems to always fall on a prime Saturday, usually around the time our ml'er season opens. Christina, our oldest, is just too far away for us to be involved at this point. She is seriously considering picking back up with band next season. UT Knoxville band program is pretty big, would possibly mean more scholarship money, but would sure put her with much less free time(good and bad there) lol. If she does pick band up, we will probably try to make at least one game.
Tominator
I hear you William. Matt's state band competition was last Saturday. To be honest, my motivation to hunt is seriously on the wane in the last few years for some reason. I still like it, but I'm not nearly as into it as I was when I was younger. I get a lot more satisfaction watching my kids compete in all their activities.
a_10acboy
I feel ya brother. I missed a couple of years with my youngest playing travel football and we made it to Orlando to play for a national championship. This year I am going to see my oldest graduate from his first naval school. So proud of both my boys and wouldn't trade one minute being with them for being in the woods. Be proud and enjoy yourself. Good luck to the entire team and safe travels!

stevebeilgard
i have the best of both worlds. i take kids hunting and i feel the same rush when they shoot, as when i shot. same with fishing. i run the boat and connie (and guests) bring in all the fish. i actually get the same rush. so, everyone, maybe get involved with the kid groups, wounded warriors, etc and see how that works for you.
