inhuntr
Does anyone on here video there hunts?
wtnhunt
Some. Gotten one of my own mler hunts with kill footage and two of my oldest daughters youth hunt kills. Tons of footage of everything from kangaroo boxing to sparring and chasing. Hoping to get my 13 year old on a good buck either with the mler or our general gun season and plan to try to video it. Ravin R10 man
I don't see the point in it...I'd watch it once and file it., why put all that extra work into something that to me has little value., that's my feeling about that. Depend s on if you plan on submitting it for a carreer or something.. I .may feel different if I was on a hunting show where I got paid to do it., Even then the cam better be ON the animal cause I'm shootin weather you can see it or not.. So I guess I wouldn't be on the show too long., and I'd drive the camera guy nuts.I aint talkin when a deer comes in sorry.. just ask Slash...lol Edited November 6, 2014 by Mathews XT Man
jfrawley
I have a friend who videos a lot when he takes people. I think it is really cool to look back at the video of my first buck with him and his grandsons first turkey among others. Some of the best footage he has is us goofing around in the blind and the post hunt interviews, whether successful or not. There is no sense in blowing the chance at a big buck trying to solo it, but if you are the guide, the memories you capture could last forever. Memories to last a lifetime captured on tape is a real plus. Oldest daughters 2008 youth hunt doe:
Ravin R10 man
we did tons of video when ash was small....nobody watches them either... Ya we got it on tape..there they sit. as far as hunting videos,.like I said....waste of time..... imo sharing the hunts..well family are usually here anyways, I just don't need a video cam with me to capture the hunts. Im just not interested in that. sorry If you want to do it, hey knock your socks off Edited November 6, 2014 by Mathews XT Man
inhuntr
well it takes a lot of dedication that's for sure!! Was just curious what everybody else did!!! I think it's kind of interesting looking back at the video after a hunt!
dogdoc
I'll take the video camera with me when I am hunting in the tower stand but not the tree stand. Too much work trying to keep a camera on the deer and draw a bow at the same time. However, on hunts that I have on video I enjoy going back and reliving the memory. todd
Ravin R10 man
well it takes a lot of dedication that's for sure!! Was just curious what everybody else did!!! I think it's kind of interesting looking back at the video after a hunt! Why all the "Exclamations"? I didn't use any in either of my posts..you asked if we video our hunts, I do not and explained why, I did not slam anybody for doing it..go for it man..I just chose not to. another reason is I'm not totin all that extra gear along. William, I tried videoing my daughters first bowhunt, was just above and behind her, a nice fork horn comes in at 5 yards quartering away, this is going to be PERFECT...I nudge her to draw, nothing..I tell her to draw, nothing...then she turns and tells me.."I'm waiting for an 8pt"!!.... I never took the cam again. I did video a crow hunt once, but that too..looked at it one time and it to is on the shelf. wtnhunt
Yep, to each their own Martin. Dunno that I will ever make it to see any grandkids, but how cool would it be to take a grandkid hunting and to show them some of their mom or dads hunts.
