Class project....any ideas

Ok, for my Church Recreation class, we have to develop a program that we would have if we ran it at church. It can basically be anything, the main focus being to meet needs of people (that's another lecture, lol). We have to give a little presentation in class, my date is April 8. So far I know I want i to be something having to do with the outdoors but what I don't know. I was thinking of taking our one dog and demonstrating some dog obedience stuff then taking them outside and letting the class throw balls and frisbees for her since she loves that...Does anyone have any other ideas???????

What are the needs of the people?

I guess more specifically, who are the people?

What is the age of the people in your church?

How many in each age group? 1-3, 4-6,7-9, 10-12, 12-15 years old ect.

What are you currently doing?

There are too many variables for a good suggestion here.

Thats what I always found odd, or shall I say hypocritical. The church will preach up and down about the sins of gambling and lotteries and how it is the devils work or whatever. But there seems to be no problem with, spending money on a game of chance where the prize is money as long as there are little sheets with numbers that you fill in when someone calls a number, in fact, thats basically how one of those evil lotteries are played, the only difference is in bingo the numbers are picked for you, you just have to hope that you have the lucky sheet where your numbers will be in the right order.

Ok, people have psychological, social, physical, and emotional. My program is not going to be an actual program but something I would do if I were going to run the program. If I could, I'd take the class out hunting, lol, but I can't! I need to do something that I can demonstrate or show on powerpoint. That is why I thought I could do something with out dog...

What about an exercise program? It would tie in nicely with your major and I would imagine you already have a lot of information stuck in your head about it! You could show how you would modify the exercises so that everyone could participate, no matter what their physical condition. You could find exercises on the net and use the pictures in a powerpoint presentation, and even get some audience participation going with the class by having them try out some of the exercises....

Just a thought....good luck! I always have the hardest time coming up with the idea, but the rest is easy.

Just an idea, but I think that you should call a local archery pro-shop in your area and ask if they could

come out and show how to shoot a bow. ask them to bring a couple of Mathews Genesis bows (they fit anyone) and then ask who would like to shoot a bow. I bet that you will get a lot of audience participation.Especially the kids. I am sure that you could get a couple of volunteers to help form a couple of lines for shooting. If the archery shop

could bring a couple of targets or even a shooting bag. You will be surprised at how many adults will want to do it also. It is a great way to introduce

a very fun outdoor sport. be sure and stress safety.

It is great exercise and you might get someone interested in shooting a bow who might not have

ever seen how they work or how much fun it is.
