dogdoc
Never tried It' date=' I stick to corn and apples, alfalfa natural feed we have here.[/quote'] Martin---do you ever feed the deer alfalfa hay? I've seen deer eat the alfalfa hay on hunting shows so I tried it a couple of times but the deer won't touch it here. I did put some alfalfa pellets in a gravity feeder once and the deer devoured it. im your huckleberry
Oats works really well but i don't know the variety name i think it it's Harmon, if you pop a few in your mouth and chew they will be really sweet. Then you know you have the right ones.
im your huckleberry
Just bought a 50lbs bag of oats and the same amount of alfalfa cubes for under $25 hope it does the trick, hope it works for another 158 8 point. stevebeilgard
i think martin had it correct. stick to things from your area. if the deer are not accustomed to eating alfalfa, don't bait them with alfalfa. how about a nice pile of acorns, if acorns are what they are used to eating? Yes they love it here, I keep them on it all winter long, but then it is grown here too...don't think forest deer would look at it. corn, apples, acorns, sumflowers are good too
