Turkeygirl
I'm sure some of you have seen Buffalo, NY on the news with the major lake effect snow they've had. I am thankfully to not live there, they are in bade shape. Sun is out where I live, by the grace of God we were spared. Local TV stations have been broadcasting almost the whole time, people are still stranded. And they are predicting another band of lake effect to come! But warm up next week which spells possible flooding with all that snow. I am ready for spring now.
Ravin R10 man
Spring is 6 months away Tgirl...lol But ya, winter is just getting started, and the lakes are not going to freeze that fast. Gile Wis just east of us 45 miles got around 5 to 6 foot of L.E. were just getting going.... The U.P. is getting dumped on..Ashley & Andy got as much snow now as the whole winter last year... The other thing, ROOFS....with that much snow you must get the snow off the roof..or risk a collapse..we saw a few go down last year around here Edited November 20, 2014 by Mathews XT Man
Maine Hntr
its unreal, amazing mother nature can dump that much snow over that short period of time. that'll do damage to a deer population.
Trevor
I'm about 3 hours west of buffalo and the snow here hasn't stopped. We only got around 8 inches. The snow has come way to early.
wtnhunt
Global warming, no? People here complaining about the early cold, can remember my first year in Tennessee we had a good amount of snow on Thanksgiving. That said as cold as it is now got to wonder what are going to be looking at in January and February. these current weather cycles have us setting record low temps. According local farmers this is going to be a bad winter.
Ravin R10 man
Will, was at C store delivering corn, a guy comes in and says,... "Yup, were going into an Ice Age, next comes the glaciers and we all freeze to hell! This is how it starts ya know"!! I said, What,? So soon after Global Warming"?? The whole place eurrupted in laughter!
RangerClay
We got hammered up here but no where near as bad as Buffalo. My kids are going back to school today. First time since Monday.
dbHunterNY
We got hammered up here but no where near as bad as Buffalo. My kids are going back to school today. First time since Monday. know a guy who took vacation and was going on hunting trip up in adirondacks somewhere. he posted pictures just trying to get to camp which was down an unmaintained logging road! looked rough with a lot of fluffy stuff!
dbHunterNY
I've had friends from Buffalo posting pictures of stuff caved in and opened garage doors with walls of snow. Glad college was years ago and I'm not there anymore. Word has it they're giving anyone who helps clean out Bills stadium free admission just to make the game happen. Not sure plan's going to work but we'll see. Sabres hockey was still a go at HSBC arena earlier this week and there was supposedly 50 people and they won against San Jose who's a good team. ruttinbuc
Can't worry too much about what you can't control. Unseasonably cold here with more wind than I can remember at this time of year. It looks like heavy rain coming to the Buffalo area will make matters a whole lot worse..
