Power steering

FYI

Pump prob.(don't wait if yours starts to go)

Silverado '05 with 123k started getting hard to turn at low rpm. Turns out the pump was going, so had it replaced, also had the gear box replaced as fine metal from pump plugged that and could not be unplugged. Was a bit spendy, but at least it's safe to drive again. As long as it was up on the rack I threw a set of Heavy Duty shocks on too, with the 8 ply tires back in Oct. she rides like a new truck now.

I bought a new '94 Toyota T100 4X4 and at about 50,000 miles, power steering pump died. After-market pump had better offer than factory replacement. I traded that truck for a new '01 Tundra and had no problems. It got traded for an '06 Tundra and absolutely no problems.

Our patrol trucks at work are mostly 4X4s. They are Chevys and Fords, and one big older 4X4 Dodge that I like to drive. Most of our trucks are new, furnished by Uncle Sam. With proper service, we don't seem to have many going in for repair. Our patrol cars don't hold up as well, for obvious reasons.
