Ravin R10 man
call warden. I usually take care of the problem myself, after I warn the owner, and if they run again....sorry! wtnhunt
Catch the dogs if you can and take them to the pound. Given a few nice beagle hounds to a new home where the happy new owner promised to never bring them around here. Other options, not legal some places and could get you in trouble if not careful. hoosierhunter
Tough deal. Not really the dogs fault, but once they get a taste for running deer I don't think they can be broken of it. I've never been in a situation with a dog running deer past me and faced with a decision. 25 years ago a neighbor encounter three dogs who had ran down a buck and we're trying to kill him behind our house. They ended up breaking both his front legs and we had an officer put him down. Two dogs didn't make it out of the ordeal and the third never got out his yard again. Ravin R10 man
Dogs probably would not get too far here now, the wolves would get them and the deer. every fall a couple hounds get killed running Bears. wolf pack will kill anything on its turf
stevebeilgard
i have it easy. the wyoming law says anyone seeing a dog chase a deer SHOULD shoot it, not may shoot it. the game wardens simply open fire, and so do i. the deer have it rough enough in the winter, so i'm protecting my future. i now only spend a month or 2 in wyoming, and am an alaska resident, but i still carry my gun.
