wtnhunt
Get a call this morning from an 828 number and some foreign guy named Steven. He proceeds to tell me my computer is not working properly and that i need to turn it on and go to a site so he can gain access to it to straighten out the issues. Umm yeah right. Told Steven we are on the do not call list, don't call back. He proceeded to tell me don't hang up he needed me to turn on my computer right now. Of course I hung up. Had not heard about this scam, looked the area code up a north Carolina area code. Guess this has been a scam going on for a few years? Rhino
Thanks for the heads up William. I'm on the do not call list too but it certainly gets ignored by a lot of people. I've gotten to the point where if I don't recognize the number on caller ID, I don't answer it.

wtnhunt
thanks for heads up..been getting an unlisted number..pick up the phone nobody there..guess they just want to hear my voice?..lol Get unknown often that are the same, noone there. Still get the cardholder services calls from Rachel, latest they call from my own home phone number. Sad thing is that some do get scammed by these scumbags. Ravin R10 man
When I get a call, and they want money, I tell them to send me money first, for the Martin's fund. OR If they want to send me something to try out...No obligation, then I say SEND it!....As long as Im not obligated, then Im not going to pay for it either!...CLICK! othe thing I like doing, is give them time to give me the sales pitch..play along and then say sorry not interested, Ive got one. stevebeilgard
all right, now, everyone. here is another scam. those calls that come in with no one there often have an 800 number so you will call back. that call back to that mysterious number may cost you hundreds of dollars on your phone bill. don't ever call back. also, when a machiene calls you, they generally take TWO hello's to activate. just say hello once then hang up
