bear hunting

I've black bear hunted with my now but have yet to take one. I used the same set up I do for whitetail and most research I found on the subject says the same thing (unless you mean brown bears which would be a different ball game). I use a fixed 4 blade cut on contact.

Good fixed blade. Wait for a quartering away or broadside shot, study the bears anatomy, (it's much different than a deer).. that shoulder is tough to get through..don't shoot it there. get well behind shoulder.

you should be fine,

my 5 year old grandson killed a bear last week..., he was hunting on the ground, in Grampa's spooky forest......"Grampa was up in his tree stand, and he saw a buck,I was on the ground and I saw a bear.....it was dark, and all I could see was the whites of it's eyes, Grampa couldn't see it, so I poked the bears eyes out, and I put a big hole in its side with my stick...then he was dead"!....(guess he got placement right)..cant wait to put a bow in his hands!...OR maybe I'll just get him a Spear!?....lol

Wonder if Buckee is related??
