bbarcheryhunter
Just got a 357 the other day from a friend and I was wondering about a few things . Bullets , price, and accuracy? I got it mostly for groundhog hunting and once I get better with it I'd love to take it for deer .. also just a thought but wat about bear ?? I go every year and make a few drives up over big mountains and thru thick stuff .. is it big enough
fly
I use a 357 mag Taurus when I check bait stations for black bear. It's enough if you can hit it. I would buy a 44mag for brown bears. Researched this a lot some years ago. 357 mag is the smallest Id use for black bear.
fly
Mine is heavy - 6 inch barrel. I'm Accurate enough out to 30 yards with open sights. Don't remember the bullets - heaviest I could find.
bbarcheryhunter
Thanks fly . First I want to shoot it a bunch then see if I can kill a deer .. was shooting yesterday and at 20 yards I felt really comfortable. Next time out I'll try 25 and see wat happens
