Rhino
Yes it's easy for us not to think about the families of those that gave their lives for our freedom.
Ravin R10 man
Thats right Al...where would we be without the sacrifice they gave?
Rhino
I was reading this article this morning. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/americans-gave-their-lives-to-defeat-the-nazis-the-dutch-have-never-forgotten/ar-BBkct8c?ocid=bdtdhp It sure made me think...how much do we do to honor those that have fallen...on this...the day set aside to honor them. Many enjoy it as a holiday to BBQ and enjoy the company of friends and family. That's fine because it is part of that freedom that they gave their lives to protect for all of us. However, on this special day set aside to honor those who have fallen to preserve our freedom, shouldn't we take a little time today to at least learn something about some of those men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. I knew the Dutch were super appreciative back in the day but not so much today.
Ravin R10 man
Well, they would be speaking German today then, if the colition(sp)? did not defeat them, from what I read in Al's link, they have many waiting to step in and take care of the grave sites to this day! AMAZING!
wtnhunt
Interesting article there Al. Have always held the thought that those who sacrificed their own lives for our freedoms are due a level of the highest respect and honor and so are their families. After all the families are left with a loss that they have to deal with the remainder of their lives.
