VermontHunter
My teacher brain says 21. But then again it's fried from the last 10 months. The one thing I've always struggled with is math, I was never able to retain the information that was being taught to me. My other subjects were great just math and some science skills for obvious reasons ...
stevebeilgard
the question you posted reads: 5 plus 8 times 6/3 (six thirds = 2). the correct answer to your original question is 26. 5 plus 8 =13, times 2 = 26. i don't have a teacher brain, so i use my p brain. wtnhunt
Couple different ways it comes out the same. Correct answer should be 21 Luke. Division or multiplication always come before subtraction or addition. 6/3=2 2x8=16 16+5=21 6x8=48 48/3=16 16+5=21 Only way you add or subtract first is if it is in parenthesis. fly
I was taught to do either multiplication or division first (doesn't matter). Then addition or subtraction. I get 21.
