Spoiled myself today!

Well I acquired a new member of the safe today boys and girls. Wanted something a little lighter in weight and easy on the shoulder so my girlfriend can shoot and hopefully start deer hunting. Also wanted to fill that gap between the .25-06 and .300 WSM. This should do the trick! Ended up going with the Remington 700 CDL SF in 7mm-08. Topped it off with matching silver rings, bases and a Leupold VX-1 3-9x40 scope. Of course it started raining when I got home from Ottawa but was able to sneak out and get a few rounds off after I mounted the scope. First two shots were 2 inches high at 20 yards with 2 pretty well inside eachother. Backed off to 50 yards and it was 7 inches high. Took her down 14 clicks and ended up bullseye at 50 yards. Then it started pouring. So maybe later on if the skies clear or tomorrow dial it in at 100 yards and beyond. Anyways, love the gun. Shoots great. Nice trigger which is adjustable too, haven't played with that yet, feels nice where it is.

Thanks everyone. Did a little shooting at 100 yards and got it dialed in good shooting Winchester Power Point 140 grainers. I'm going to order some dies and get my reloader set back up and get some hand loads worked up for it. Very impressed so far. Hoping a groundhog makes an appearance this afternoon out in the field, if it does it will be getting a pill from this gun and the .220 Swift will get a break LOL. :gun2:
