I will post this update on Dakota here for everyone to read .... along with some additional info.

~~Dakota is off the ventilator and his breathing tube is out! Please pray that he will not need to use it again during this stay! He is sitting up in bed and watching DVD 's. Not able to eat or drink anything yet until they retrain him how to eat and drink. He can't wait for his first glass of water!

Also, I've been asked to share again the link to Dakota's GoFundMe site. A huge thank you to all who have been able to contribute! Even more important are your continued thoughts and prayers for Dakota and our family! Special thanks to our very good friend Carol McKee at Hockey605 for creating and updating this site. We are truly blessed to have friends like all of you!

This is the latest on Dakota as of this week ....

From his Dad ,,

" Hello friends! Dakota has had a tough week overall. He is still on the ventilator with his trache and is experiencing ICU delirium (confusion, hallucinations). His arms and legs are getting small as he has lost lots of muscle mass and strength. He is very discouraged again and just wants to go home. In spite of all this, the docs say he's slowly getting better. Jennifer and I feel like we're getting a little hospital crazy, too. Please pray for us as we all are feeling like we are in a funk right now. Dakota will wrap up eight weeks in the ICU tomorrow. Please pray that he will have a better day tomorrow and that God will give his body more strength. Thanks! "

Here's the latest on Dakota ...

~~Today was Dakota's 65th day in the ICU. He had a pretty good day today. Not as feverish and seems to be stronger today. Did a little playful arm wrestling with him and he is showing more strength! Stood up a couple of times (still with the help of three people) but can't stand yet on his own. Tomorrow they will perform a white cell tagged scan to see if they can find the source of his fevers. If they can't find anything after this test, they will perform a bone marrow biopsy to check for any kind of cancer. His spirits seem a bit better today as well. Please pray that the doctors are able to find the cause of his fevers and that God will take them away. Also, please pray for encouragement, comfort, peace, strength, and even joy for Dakota as God carries him through this trial. Thank you!
