The Bug House
Hello Tim! I agree with your assessment on the weather! It's been a cool and wet Summer so far, only the last few days have been warm here in VT. Got a small food plot in and a couple cameras out, just a couples does hanging around so far ... and a Bobcat. Suppose I'll start target practice soon. I was wondering about your take on the Dannemora escape? Quite the story!! Have a good one.

wtnhunt
Man, down here there ain't nothing cool about the summer. Its the hottest one I remember in a while. Yep, been pretty warm here too. Looking at a forecast calling for actual temp at 100 Friday Saturday and Sunday here. Heat indexes been bumping the 110 mark with actual temps around the mid 90's. Gonna be miserable heat this weekend. Way too warm to get anything i need to do for deer season prep done. Didn't know the man but a 50 year old public school superintendent a county over from us evidently passed away from the heat when he was mulching a playground. Sad story that's been in the local news on radio and tv, heat here right now is no joke. Past few times i have seen the local evening news been ER Dr's warning about the heat and a rise in heat related cases they are seeing. Rhino
LIke smha6784 said...been too hot to do much outdoors here in MS. Heat indexes have been 105+. Supposed to be up to 100 (actual temp) this weekend. Did go to our MS camp & get a few projects done this past weekend. Not sure if I would last long this coming weekend doing anything in the woods there. Heat advisories in effect through this week. MS River has the Big Black River backed up and flooding ~2/3 of the low ground on our W side. Fortunately, most the the club's property is high ground. In MO...its been way too wet to make the trip there to try to do anything. Doesn't get a chance to dry up before more rain moves in. Flooding conditions right now on the creeks on us and from the river on the S side bordering us. Appears our farmer is going to loose some of his crops due to flooding. This is the 2nd flooding event we've had during the past month or so. Glad we haven't started running the trail cams yet there or some would have been under water. More rain moving in right now. Checked the MS River gauges from Natchez, MS up to SE Iowa. All show minor to moderate flooding. Doesn't appear there's anywhere for the water in the area to go till the river falls. It has been a lot cooler in MO than here though.

Shaun_300
Howdy Tim! The summer has been going good for me. Weather has been a bit unpredictable. Yesterday was the warmest day this year so far. It hit 92 with a heat index of 106. STINKIN hot! And last Tuesday morning it was 44 degrees when I woke up. Had to put my sweater on for a good part of the morning lol. I'm ready for fall, trigger finger is getting itchy. Been keeping it itched by keeping our groundhog and skunk population on the property to a minimum.
