arrow32
Anyone have a new hunting ride for this up and coming season? I was hoping to have something else before season started but don't look like its going to happen. Maybe a new lift on my jeep to get up the whole road and a bigger set of tires and new mud terrains. Haul road is a real pain when it gets to raining if you don't have a good set of tires to get up to the farm.
wtnhunt
Trying to find out a little more about this dodge buyback program right now. Got mixed info as of now as to whether or not our 08 durango is part of the current recall. We just got a notice on a recall within the last month on a fatal flaw in the airbag system that they do not currently have parts available to fix. Evidently the axle and steering issue may or may not be an issue with our durango too. Might be time to look at a trade.
arrow32
There having a huge recall going on right now. Might be time to look at trading. Gotta have a safe ride.
wtnhunt
Yeah, available information is kind of screwy. According to some places I have looked the recall covers 2007 and 2009-12 durango models. Dunno why 2008 is skipped? I ran the vin on the safecar site and it only came up with the airbag recall. The buyback according to some sites suggests dodge/chrysler will have to pay back original purchase price minus depreciation plus 10 percent. Dunno if chrysler will potentially end up facing bankruptcy with this or what might happen with our lifetime powertrain warranty on our durango as a result? arrow32
The buy back will put them in a monster hole for sure. That does seem rather odd that the 2008 wouldn't be included in the recall. Might be by the time there done doing all of this. What is the deal with the air bag? Doesn't work? wtnhunt
Be better off if it didn't work, probably. Evidently the driver side air bag can become somewhat of an ied! In places with high humidity especially, which we are, there is a flaw that may send shrapnel into the driver and passengers when the driver side air bag is deployed. The recall notice we got said parts are not available though.
arrow32
They send a recall out and can't even fix it or do anything about it that's crazy. Man I'd really be thinking about trading that in. I've had no recalls on our cars yet that I know of.
Shaun_300
No new rides for me. My girlfriend's old 1998 Explorer has been sitting here on the farm for 4 years since she got her Trailblazer. I wanted to get it running so I have something I can run around the property with and get wood etc. Had to put a starter in it, rolls but won't fire. Looks like it needs a fuel pump. Trying to decide whether to put the money into it since it would just be used on the farm here. Kayla's dad has a 1997 Yamaha Kodiak 400 that I use all the time. Wish I wouldn't have sold my Can Am Outlander now, this was before I met my girlfriend and lived at home with no where to ride around the house lol. Can't go anywhere on it without the dog, she insists on coming. As soon as I say 4 wheeler, go to the bush, anything like that she jumps around and yelps as if to say you ain't leaving me behind! Also picked up this 2000 MXZ 700 last winter. Customer brought it in with a blown engine after he took it for a ride forgetting it was a 2 stroke and failed to add injection oil it lol. Bought it for 400 bucks and rebuilt the engine for about another 400. Pretty good deal considering it's worth about $2500. It's a lot of fun! Nice riding a snowmobile through the woods checking for fresh coyote sign and parking with the rifle on your lap as you call them.
arrow32
That's cool Shaun! Got to love a good dog. We have one but I'd be ashamed to post a pic LOL
Shaun_300
She's a good girl. Still pretty hyper for 4 years old but that's ok. She LOVES kids which is great. When the niece and nephew come over she doesn't leave their side (they're 3 and 8). Hoping once the baby comes she'll mellow out a bit. arrow32
I'm sure she will. My cousin had a pit mix and that dog was hyper as all get out. But when I lil one came around he would mellow out a ton around them.
