WestKyTeacher
Anyone have any luck using kool aid for a deer attractant? I've heard of people using the kool aid that just needs water and pouring it right out of the container over corn, a stump, or a salt block. If you've tried this, did it work? What flavor is best? Does anyone have any other tips or tricks on attracting deer? I've also heard of mixing sweet feed with corn. I'm trying to do things to bring more deer in eyesight for my children that will be in the blind with me. We've planted a total of 2 acres of soybeans, winter peas, rape, kale, turnips and wheat on the 16th.
Ravin R10 man
I'd try Black Cherry, or Grape...I may try that myself
redkneck
I have used grape on mineral sites to get them in quick, get the kind that already has sugar added and pour it over your mineral mix
OKstate
I have never tried it for deer, but have known several buddies who use it as a part of their hog bait!
hoytshooter09
knew a guy who would break open a couple pop tarts and lay them in the trail for an attractant. he also swore he shot a big 8 pt cuz he opened up a bag of corn chips he said the deer came in sniffing the air. Shaun_300
Never tried it but may raid the cupboards and see if there's any here, wouldn't hurt to throw it in front of the cam and give it a shot! Think I'm going to stock up this weekend on stuff, not sure if they're getting sick of apples or if they just need fresher ones.
wtnhunt
Think rhine has mentioned using koolaid at mineral sites. Grape should work well.
