arrow32
I've been trying to find a place close to thebhouse to hunt because all the property my family owns is a a about a half hour drive from thebhouse to the closests since we have moved. I've had no luck. Its a real bummer. Not giving up I am talking to someone now who is considering it could cost me some fee labor tho.lol Thinking this year coming up we will be looking for some property closer to home to buy so I can jump out for a quick hunt when I want. Anyone else got a drive just to hunt
wtnhunt
Walk out the door and walk to my stands here Cody. I wouldn't mind having another farm to hunt if it were no more than 25 minutes away, but that will have to wait a few years.
arrow32
That'd be great William. I've always had to drive. Hopefully make it a close drive next year. Im really thinking about talking the wife into buying some land here rather close to the house. Maybe somethin I can out a trailer on or something i dont know. Rhino
Just have to drive to & from camps right now. From the house it's a 1 1/2 hour drive to the MS camp & it's a 9 1/2 hour drive to the MO camp. When I used to do a lot of "do it yourself" road trip hunting in the midwest it was at least a 30 minute drive from a motel to where I hunted...usually longer. hoytshooter09
i have to hunt public land here in Missouri the one area that's is 30 min away is very low deer population and not very big. so to hunt the area that is about 6,000 acres total and archery only is about an hour drive. no one seems to want to let you hunt any more or its leased out. I have considered leasing land but can't find no one to split the cost some. definitely frustrating driving an hour to hunt public land where its much harder to shoot deer. arrow32
I suppose I should be grateful I have private land to hunt and can do with as I please! Would just be nice to have something of my own
MUDRUNNER
I have about an hour and ten minute drive. Getting up at 3 A.M. to be settled in the stand early gets pretty hard toward the end of the season. I used to have a little 20 acre place about 10 minutes away, but lost that when someone offered the owner money for sole hunting rights out of the blue.
