im your huckleberry
Went into my Elk hunting area, stayed 3 days talked to a Warden and found out that that not only is there cougars in area but about a dozen wolves are there as well, black bears, and a grizz. Plan B took effect after the morning driving around found a cutline that was running n/s and still dark timber 2 hours after sunrise. Took a walk to the nearest e/w cutline which was a 1/2 mile, and took seat on a stump while i was there this darn raven kept circling squaking then took off about 150 yds over the forest to my right and then did the same thing there. I am just wondering if ravens are hungry enough if they help a hunter by ratting out the location of game just to get a warm meal? I know have a good laugh . My theory is they know its hunting season and hunters leave them a pile of innerds and they are a smart bird, that smart i dont know. I was just thinking maybe one or several members here have this knowledge of the raven?
Ravin R10 man
maybe he was telling you where the Grizzly was...lol I heard Grizzlys will come running when they hear a gun shot..same thing for them, it's time to eat I know, the Raven was working with the Griz, telling him where to find his next meal ...lol all kidding aside, Ravens are very smart birds Edited October 26, 2015 by Mathews XT Man

wtnhunt
I know the crows are good tattle tales. Have had them give up deer and yotes locations too many times to count. Been a few times i wondered what heck they were cawing at and figured maybe it was me. lol Good luck with the new spot.
im your huckleberry
It started out with let listen to some John Prine, good tunes! It would seem raven are a tattle tail bird especially during big game season, they do know what a hunter is and what we are able to leave for them. He also said beware in thick dark timber because it could be a grizz or something you don't want, they will also tattle your location to game making it next to impossible to do a stalk. He told me if it happens again don't poke him leave for an hour come back and try.

TRUUUK. gotcha now run that one past your tribal elder. lol
