stevebeilgard
to wyoming, that is. tough to leave alaska, but the grandkids need some attention. instead of driving, we're flying into boise to pick up a new truck. the old duramax is great, even with 260,000 on it. i'll keep that and connie gets a new one. from boise, we'll see jackson hole and the elk refuge. i was the first of 2 to actually be able to guide hunters on the elk refuge itself. for those who don't know what that means, i was allowed to hunt a strip about 5 miles wide and 10 miles long, that held an average of 14,000 elk each winter. ever wonder why i'm 100% on 6 x 6 or larger elk? lol. i always tell folks it's because i cheat. we should be in gillette about saturday night. stevebeilgard
a nice, uneventful trip. weather was great, no snow storms, and the truck is a delight. we're back in wyoming for a couple of months, or until the kids kick us out.. lol

stevebeilgard
hopefully, ruth. but remember, i'm 68 and coutin'. lol surprisingly few elk on the refuge. i'm guessing under 1,000. it used to be 14 to 18,000 per year and sometimes more. it's the wolves. stevebeilgard
i fought the wolves in yellowstone from before the start. from the inceptual idea. i went to some of the meeting, actually calling out the liars and their lies. the park service was not happy to see me. yea, it's the wolves. if we ever get a washington with common sense, they will issue a "shoot on site" order. wolves are bad for all america.
