The Bug House
Well, most of my gear is cleaned and put away, needed repairs noted and the feezer ... empty. lol! I did manage to shoot a Turkey opening day of archery season 10/3. I also had a Bobcat come out earlier that morning. But that was the only action I had from the Treestand ..... Not for the lack of trying thats for sure. Thanks to my wife for letting me spend so much time in the woods! Iol. I noticed a lot more pressure from other hunters this year, I had had a couple guys on camera and saw them in person as well. That educated the deer without a doubt. I also found 2 rubs and scrapes nearby and put a camera on it but never got anything. I was able to figure out their hiding spots late in the season and came within range several times, but never was able to get a clear shot. I had 6 does meander 25 yds in front of me during rifle season. But no headgear. Looking forward to next year.
Rhino
Sorry to hear your season was unproductive. At least you have a good feel where to prepare to be come next year. Best of luck next year.
Ravin R10 man
Yup, like Rhino said, you learned where they go during season, you got a leg up on next year.
wtnhunt
Did not get out near as much this year as I thought I would. Have a few weeks left here yet. Not too far off time to take down stands and put them in the garage.

Adjam5
I got out quite often this year. My knee surgery and recovery seemed to go in step with hunting season. What a lucky guy. My only issue was if I got something, how would I drag it with my knee. Well I got lucky opening day, shot a good buck my son was close by and he took care of it for me Passed numerous does and small bucks at camp. Rifle season was a bust.saw nothing at all. Had to leave camp and come home to find deer. My son Joe set me up in a good area close to home and while he was checking traps we knew something would run out of the cat tails. A big body spike. He hit the dirt, then the freezer. This weekend is our last here for muzzle loading. Going to try and get one more.
fly
Sounds like it has been a pretty rough season for several people. The past several years I have been able to get about 70 hunts in over our 3.5 month long deer season. Most are only a few hours in the AM or PM before/after work. I usually get 3 or 4 each year with a nice buck just about every year. This year I filled the freezer with a total of 5 deer (one 8-point that was 4.5 years old) from several different public/private locations. I still have an archery buck tag and am still searching for a second nice buck. However, at this point the hunting is really tough and I don't think I'd take another doe - but then again.... wtnhunt
Sounds like it has been a pretty rough season for several people. The past several years I have been able to get about 70 hunts in over our 3.5 month long deer season. Was kind of disappointing with knowing we had a couple nice 8's that made it through last year. Really didn't have great expectations from trail cam pics, but as usual we did have a few surprises mid November. I did not put in near the stand time i have years past. Couple reasons for that. fly
Trail cams certainly have helped motivate me to get out more. Knowing I have shooters on the property (even if they are mostly at night) helps keep me going. If I didn't have pics of deer I wanted to shoot I don't think I'd be out near as much.
