Turkeygirl
I have to take a Statistics I class for my BSN and am biting the bullet and taking it this spring semester. It's online as most of my classes. I really hope it's not as hard as I'm fearing. I am not a math/algebra/calculus wiz by any means. Dreading the class but gotta get it done. Any input? fly
Do you have different stats classes to choose from? If so find out which one is generally taken by nurses and take that one. Teachers will often design assignments for the student type they generally see in the class. This will make it easier and more relevant for you. I assume it will be an entry level class and include basic things like frequencies, T-tests and ANOVA, You will likely need a statistical software application with SPSS being the most common and user friendly. However, it isn't cheap so hopefully you get it through the school or at least at a discounted rate. The best advice I can give you is to make sure you have a good understanding of the content before you progress. It's pretty easy at first but gets more difficult each week and builds on previously covered material. Good luck!
Turkeygirl
No it's just a general Stats class as far as I know.
fly
It's been a while Ruth but if you run into trouble and can't get what you need from your teacher I'd be happy to help. I think you'll find that basic stats is not that difficult (granted you have a good teacher that knows how to teach online).
