Turkeygirl
About 2 weeks ago was outside around 6am doing barn chores and in some woods across the road what do I hear but a bunch of gobblers sound off. If that doesn't get the blood pumping. Got a trail cam out on some adjacent property I hunt and going to ask a neighbor if I can hunt his property where I heard the birds. Had to be 4-5 of them I'd guess. I'm sure they'll be breaking up their flock soon.
Ravin R10 man
I hear ya Ruth....one hears that and you come to a complete stop just to listen...same with geese..... Turkeys here have pretty much spread out already when the major snowpack left, so much food in the woods, you dont even see them in the fields just yet here
elkoholic
Turkey season starts April 9th here and with just over a week to go I think there may be a few that might get my attention. Will let them go if them come back in the yard, but it sure is nice just watching them. They have been getting real active the past couple of weeks. wtnhunt
Been hearing a few for a while here. Couple weeks ago had 3 different birds, all from different locations, gobbling one morning. Not a single one sounded like it was on our side of the river. Flood waters this morning had about 30 turkeys on the little ridge i shot my buck from last fall. RangerClay
In our neck of New York the turkeys are few and far between. I've seen very few birds in my travels and only one gobbler. I used to hear birds gobbling from my porch in the morning but I havn't heard one in years. I'm taking my daughter out tomorrow but I really don't expect to hear or see anything.
