Ravin R10 man
How you guys felt when you lost a lease property. The owners of some land I have rented since 1977, decided to sell and move on. I have Bow & Rifle hunted deer and Turkeys, squirrels there. Today I took down my treelounge and step sticks, been alot of good years up there.
Rhino
Yep...been there! Hurts to think about all you did to get to know it like your own back yard, help improve it, make lasting memories on it...then suddenly...it's gone. Sorry to hear that Martin. Turkeygirl
On occasion I'll take a walk through the woods and fields I use to hunt. It is hard, not only because I can't hunt there anymore but how this big time farmer has destroyed woods and forever changed the landscape. Literally grew up in those woods. I know where we use to have stands, remember the hunts out of them. Certain trees become "monuments" in the woods. I know what ya feel XT. dbHunterNY
yup land is one of the few things that's always being chopped up, trading hands, and more isn't being made.
RangerClay
Happened to me 3 years ago this summer. Lost a property I've hunted for 31 years. Shot my first deer there. It hurts deep. Hopefully you will find something new.
MUDRUNNER
Man, that's tough. I know one day the ground I hunt on will most likely be sold. My grandpa hunts there, my dad hunted there, and now my kids hunt there. I spent a lot of weekends with some of the best people I'll ever meet, and made memories to last a lifetime. I don't think it's going away anytime soon, but I could see someone with more money than sense offering a boat load of money and making it hard to say no to. ODH
Luckily the ground that has sold in past I still can get permission for
wtnhunt
Sorry to hear that Martin. We lost our sole rights on the neighboring tract, only 35 acres but half of that was a mature oaks and mixed hardwoods. Got bought out from under us, we were one day late making our offer, and is unfortunately likely going to eventually be timbered out. Will destroy the area we tried to keep a sanctuary, further the boy that bought it is gonna let his buddies hunt it. I have had our property here since 92, so that stings.
Ravin R10 man
Not yet talked to the guy who bought it, so we had fun being the only ones to hunt it that long. I do have my own land to hunt, but that gave us Oaks to hunt when Acorns were a food source. Also our family has thinned out the oaks and some hardwood, 4 different times over 39 years, I took many crops off the field side. It was a good run, NO regrets.
