Ravin R10 man
Enjoyed watching his fights, he was the Showman of boxing; Muhammad Ali is held back by referee Joe Walcott, left, after Ali knocked out challenger Sonny Liston in the first round of their title fight in Lewiston, Maine on May 25, 1965. wtnhunt
Honestly only memory i have of ali as a kid was a wide world of sports where they had him wearing the robe and hat(muslim attire). That and the clips of him rambling "i am the greatest....." Knew he dodged the draft and changed his religion and name. My step dad was a Vietnam vet and he was not particularly fond of Ali although he did say he was a great boxer. Entitled to believe what he wanted but no reason for him to denounce this country. Ravin R10 man
I took my Dad's advise when I posted; "If you cant say anything good about a person, dont say anything at all" I only commented on his boxing. I cant argue with the responses given.

Just a shame imho especially given the current climate of this countries illegals denouncing the country that he ever went there. It is not his changing religion or anything else related to that, it is that he spoke out against this country while enjoying the freedoms that those he some adamantly opposed were dying for. fwiw he was a great boxer and showman, maybe the greatest. And he was by many accounts a very generous man. There i said something nice.
