Ravin R10 man
The "Itchy" finger for bow season? We get a mid August cool down here...that usually gets me thinking of it.. NAW!.......I'm ALWAYS thinking of it!!! Who am I kidding??? LOL
MUDRUNNER
It has been starting to creep into my mind the last week or two. Been catching a few of the new seasons of hunting shows here and there,so that gets the wheels turning a little bit. I need one more full day at the farm to get my stands tweaked and lanes trimmed and I'll be set.
ODH
Definitely do especially once it starts cooling down
Rhino
Not like I usually am Martin. That will certainly change next week. Leaving early Saturday and spending all of next week in Missouri getting ready for bow season.
Shaun_300
It's been getting in my mind too. Probably going to dust the bow off and start shooting this weekend! Also going to do some limbing and trimming around the stand. Put out a 20kg apple flavoured salt block on the other day to see if that will keep some deer in the area.
wtnhunt
No, not at all. Been too hot here, although I did get out last week on an overcast morning where temps were in the 80's and sighted in my new .308. With all that is going on on the one side of us I am not sure how much effort I will put into the archery season. I will probably get out a few times with the crossbow during our archery season. With the back and shoulder issues I have had I have not picked up my pse in probably nearly 2 years. I have not even put out all my cams yet. Only have the mineral site cam out, have a pretty nice buck that should be a 10 that was coming around regular but loggers been all over those woods and afraid he won't stick around, I need to swap cards this weekend and get another cam or three out. elkoholic
Got it! Archery season starts Sept. 3rd and I will be out chasing elk whenever I have the time. I also have an early season antelope archery tag which starts the 15th of this month, but I'm not sure if I will have the time to travel east of the mountains to where the antelope are. It would be a 12 hour drive one way but maybe I can sneak in a short trip before the regular archery opener. Deer hunting gets a back seat to elk but there will be some time spent in a ladder stand placed above a creek crossing. Have seen some really good bucks the past couple of weeks but by Sept. they will have become mostly nocturnal. I think most have already hit max antler growth judging from the ones seen around the house. Got to love that itch. This one would be hard to let walk. smha6784
I am starting to get the itch bad. Work during the off-season has been hectic and I'm ready to get out in the woods and relax. last season was a bust as the tree cutters were all over our property, but they are done now and this season should be a good one with all the undergrowth. Rhino
Yep...getting the itch now to hunt some of the stands we got ready in Missouri last week. Got all the proven stands ready and 12 new ones...some are adjustments a short distance from where they were to close in on where the deer were mainly moving. Some exciting new spots too. Finally got all the cams out in MO. I'll probably check my cams in MS this coming weekend. Some cooler weather would be sure be nice. The Bug House
HECK YEA I'M GETTING IT! 44 degrees the other night .. a whiff of woodsmoke in the air ... OH YEA!! lol ! Hung 1 stand last week, and will hang another this week. Seeded a small food plot, as usual, in early June. It's been very dry but it managed to come in nicely .... It's been a banner year for berries, early Bear season opens 9/1. I've got plenty of Deer on camera, so many Does! A set of Triplets AND twins! It was a mild Winter... Also have several Bucks frequently in the area, including a nice 8 Ptr. Archery opens 10/1 this year and goes for 4 weeks ... that's a week longer than years past. TheHawkeyeState
It's hit me pretty hard this week. Been getting everything ready. Less than 2 weeks until the season starts here. Hopefully it cools down by then, but I'm sure it will be warm. Seems like it always is the first week.
