Sat Sunday a.m., about the extent of my season so far.

Had dog and grandson to watch as Ash & Andy went to Packer/ Viking game, Kim headed out for Duluth for knee surgury & replacement, so they just picked up and headed home late today.

Surgury went well, and will be hangin around the house for the next week as needed when she comes home Wed.

Guess I can hunt till then

Today is opening day here! I am currently at work for another hour and a half, then I head home, and take a customer to watertest his seadoo I just changed the engine in, then it's off to the treestand til dark! Should have 2 hours in the stand tonight. Think I'm going to lower my standards this year. Last year I was holding out for a huge buck that I had on cam all summer, I think this year I will take nearly any legal buck. I have yet to take a deer with my bow so I should at least break the ice with whatever presents the opportunity. ;)

Wind was not supposed to be great for most of the stands I would have liked to have been in, so first sit here yesterday morning sat with the crossbow in a rifle stand over our back field where I could see the edge of our woods next to the neighboring property that just recent was timbered out. Had a nice buck at our minerals on camera in the corner last week during legal shooting light and thought I he might show and give me a better idea which way he was coming from or possibly even luck up and have him cut the ridge out in front of me, no luck. All I saw was a doe come across the field and got about 35 yards away on downwind side. Had not planned on shooting a doe, let her walk. Not sure when I will get out again, but likely will sit one of my stands in the woods. Lot of acorns on the ground in our woods.

Old parts wearing out seems to be becoming an understatement , things just are not healing as quick as they did a few years back. Too many injuries and years of joints and body taking abuse I guess here, shoulder and back issues don't seem to be getting any better. Been told bursitis and tendonitis are the culprits. I have not even taken my bow out of the case this year. About 6 weeks ago when loading some cows I bought got run over and kicked by a 600+ lb heifer who thought through me was the way out of the catch pen, still have a knot on my shin.
