Tominator
I might actually go sit in my stand tomorrow, because I can. Good luck Ohio
wtnhunt
Good luck Chris. Season opens here tomorrow, but I won't be going. Our 15 year old has a band competition and my wife is chaperoning, so will be here with the kids. Gonna be too warm here anyway with temps still in the upper 60's low 70's in the mornings and hitting the 90's during the day. Weather is supposed to break midweek this upcoming week so I am probably looking at Wednesday for my likely first sit. Still a lot of beans in around us, corn is coming out right now. Rhino
Good luck Chris. I'm heading back to MO Sunday since it's supposed to cool off Monday through most of next week. Season doesn't open in MS until 10/1.
Tominator
I didn't make it out. Wind was wrong Saturday, and not quite right Sunday. Sunday evening was a bit too hot for my liking. I did set up a ground blind in my field though. Hoping the deer get used to it by youth season. Corn looks good. Hopefully it will dry out before the first frost.
dbHunterNY
I forget your reasons for dwindling interest. I know you posted them a while back. Get out there if you can make time for it whenever possible. if bringing a kid that's even better. no big deer in ohio anyway. just going out to have fun. Tominator
I guess my biggest reason for dwindling interest is access to land. I'm just getting tired of begging for permission. When I do get permission, 5 other guys have it too, and they can mess up chances for decent deer. Other than that, I'm pretty busy with my career and my son who is very active in his HS marching band. They have competitions nearly every weekend in October and early November. He's not driving yet, so I have to taxi him around quite a bit, which I don't mind. He really loves it, and it's just as satisfying watching him succeed as it is for me to go hunting. dbHunterNY
yea you guys are a bunch of fighters health wise that'll probably live forever. it's admirable carting him around. it's good to let them pursue what they want when they're young. you've got years ahead to go on hunting trips or just hunt somewhere.
Tominator
I appreciate the sentiment bud. My wife and I are almost in a position to sell the current house and land and buy a bigger parcel. My dream is to buy enough land to will to the kids so that they can enjoy the rural life they grew up with if they so choose.
dogdoc
well good luck with season and best of luck with finding a larger parcel. The purchase of my own 160 acres was a dream come true. Season starts today in Okie land. Sticking to evening hunts for a while. Cameras are not showing much morning activity but a lot of evening activity. todd
