wtnhunt
Guess all good things eventually come to an end. Shame to see cabelas sell. Gonna go out on a limb and speculate customer service will take a nose dive. Gotta wonder what happens with all the cabelas warranties some of their branded products carried lifetime warranties. Dawg
I'm not excited about this deal either. Looks like it won't be final until spring 2017. No idea about how warranties and whatnot will work but I would assume Bass Pro would honor them.
wtnhunt
Read a couple more different articles about the merger or acquisition after posting this. Dunno what is accurate though because some say 4.5 billion and some 5.5 billion. Supposedly cabelas credit card and promotions will stay intact. That is good because we use our cabelas card like a debit card. We have had an account with them i think for nearly 20 years. Hope you are right on the warranty deal Corey. Have some cabelas optics that carry lifetime warranty, have a few years left on our commercial grinder too. Cabelas has had some real good lines of boots and clothes both hunting and work, hope that also continues.
Dawg
Yes sir details are still a bit sketchy. Not sure what Cabelas was thinking here though. Their customer service and products seemed a notch above Bass Pro. Corporate capitalism at its finest I guess.
hoytshooter09
I read that everything was going to be the same except there credit would not be visa any more and capital one would take over that's what bass pro uses.
RangerClay
No one is excited about this except the Cabela brothers who stand to pocket a done of cash. I haven't bought anything from Cabela's. in over 10 years so it's no big deal to me.
wtnhunt
Cabelas online purchases here with no stores in state allowed us to avoid the nearly 10 percent in state and local sales tax. Bass pro has stores in Tn so not sure how that might work either.
Maine Hntr
I didn't like seeing this deal either, I think Cabelas customer service is a step above Bass Pro but I've also thought Cabela's selection of not only sporting goods but casual clothing has far exceeded Bass Pro, I buy a lot of outdoor clothing though cabelas, like the quality of their stuff and hope a lot of it remains with the merger.. I don't know, I hope bass pro steps up their game a bit as part of this.
Shaun_300
I wasn't too happy to hear it either. Hopefully there's nothing too negative about the deal. Our Cabela's store just opened in Ottawa.
Ravin R10 man
Was in the Cabelas near Green Bay, everything is so dad gum expensive, I did not buy a thing..will never go back, nor will I go to Gander Mountain either.. It's still too high even on sale! L&M fleet supply or Mills Fleet farm

It's still too high even on sale! L&M fleet supply or Mills Fleet farm In my opinion: Things are expensive these days almost everywhere. Other options here are the non chain stores that are typically more overpriced than the chains or the rural king or tsc stores that are also on some items a bit pricey. Gander mountain here is the worst, their prices are so overinflated it is insane. When coupled with the poor customer service, I don't know how they are in business, at least locally anyway. Bass pro is not much better on price, but in my experience has better service than gander. Cabelas on the other hand typically has very good customer service and their lines are usually of quality that is better than average to very good and in the event the quality is not up to par they will make it right. Their prices are usually a little more competitive and they run some sales that put products at prices often times at the level with or in some cases lower than walmart. Add in that locally we pay nearly 10 percent state and local sales tax, I can buy things online tax free from cabelas cheaper than I can at walmart or other local stores that carry hunting stuff. Cabelas runs free shipping and other promotions often. Use our card for purchases like a debit card and average $35-40 a month in points which equates to free or discounted gear. Yeah, like trump I will avoid paying tax where I can, just makes sense. lol. Figure the wasteful administrative fools we employ in our gov't mismanage enough without me giving them anymore than I absolutely have to. wtnhunt
Current cabelas promo deal today only for club visa card members 16club11 gives free shipping and 10 percent off orders over $99, that includes sale prices.

Figure the wasteful administrative fools we employ in our gov't mismanage enough without me giving them anymore than I absolutely have to. this holds true for me. more often than not I use points and club offers to buy general hunting stuff from Cabelas. I've bought some stuff from BassPro, Gander, and Dick's Sporting Goods/Field&Stream. By far though Cabelas gets most business. Occasionally ebay, Lancaster archery, and 3Rivers for less run of the mill archery gear but that's about it. I've had the card a while now too. Almost to the point it's a Cabelas black card. Nothing amazing but between the Club Offers, Cabelas sales, and points I make it work quite well. Blows my mind there's no bigger chain in the capital region of NY. If it turns into a bass pro card so be it. I won't be eating any points though if some deadline for change over happens.

Ravin R10 man
Closest store is 5 1/2 hrs away Nothing there I need at those prices..card or not...sorry
dbHunterNY
certain things you buy there and certain things to don't. for example food plot seed, any minerals/bait, and ground blinds you can get materials to make the same thing or similar stuff like seed cheaper at the local ag store. when I do buy from Cabelas it's free or so heavily discounted I can't get it any cheap even anywhere online. I've walked out with a fully setup scoped CVA Optima muzzleloader or climbing stand without paying a dime.
